Session Track Listings

  • Technology In Action - This track extends the conference into the classroom.
    The case studies in this track focus on GNU/Linux and Free Software technologies to achieve objectives. Learn more about how to implement the latest tools and technologies and how other organizations have realized outstanding performance as a result.
    • 101: Open source web mapping: a non-developers perspective | Andrew Parker
    • 201: Linux in the Living Room and cancel your cable! | Mick Thompson
  • Essentials for the New GNU/Linux User - This Track is for the novice GNU/Linux user or the GNU/Linux curious.
    These sessions feature essential concepts, processes, and best practices that will provide a long lasting foundation for the new GNU/Linux user or answer the many questions for those thinking of migrating to GNU/Linux. It will also help tune-up and refresh experienced users on the fundamentals.
  • Advanced Concepts - This track is for experienced GNU/Linux professionals and will focus on Forensics, Security, Application Development and Virtualization.
    These sessions will include a detailed hands on approach to some of the most cutting edge technologies GNU/Linux has to offer.

  • The GNU/Linux Community and the Social Media Revolution - This track is for the twitter's, identi.ca's and bloggers. People that are creating content.
    These sessions will show by example how people are using the socialness of the Internet to move causes and projects like GNU/Linux and Free Software forward.

  • The Strategic Focus - This track is for experienced professionals and those interested in seeing how GNU/Linux and Free Software software can move your organization towards the future.
    These session will be for those responsible for the strategic direction and long-term planning, and support vision for their organization. Topics include the business issues related to infrastructure management, information technology support, and customer service.
